Property Auction - Radfield, Greenstreet and Newington - 12th September 1808

FREEHOLD ESTATES. Bapchild, Linstead, and Newington, KENT. To be SOLD by AUCTION, (in three lots) at the George Inn, Sittingbourne, on Monday the 12th September, 1808, at one o'clock, By Messrs JOHNSON and SON, Three very desirable Freehold Estates, at present let to tenants from year to year, at rents so very inadequate to the true value of that property, that it has not been deemed requisite to state the amount. The Land-Tax has been redeemed.

Lot 1. A Brick MESSUAGE and three acres (more or less) good Orchard Land, at Radfield, the parish of Bapchild, in the occupation of William Carpenter.

Lot 2. A Double COTTAGE and Hop-house, and three excellent Orchards, containing five acres, (more or less) planted with apples, in the occupation of Robert Cullen, near the Dover Castle, Green-street, in the parish of Linstead, adjoining the Turnpike Road, and (from the prospects it commands, and other circumstances) offering a beautiful situation for building.—The fruit of these three orchards (which yield very abundantly) has been hitherto in the hands of the proprietor.

Lot 3. A HOUSE and Butcher's Shop, in full trade, with all requisite conveniences, and three acres (more or less) of pasture Land, at Newington, in the occupation of Mr. Thomas Redman.

The property subject to the following Quit-Rents:
Lot 1. 2s. 2d. to the Manor of Tonge.
Lot 2. 2s. 2d. to the Manor of Teynham.
Lot 3. 1s. -d. to the Manor of Newington.
