Family Research - Henneker, Dodd, Davis and Millen links with Greenstreet and Sharsted Court

Family researcher, Barbara Burns, very kindly shared some of her family photographs that illustrate links between her family, our Parish and nearby. Her mother, Gwendolin Henneker, is pictured below visiting her sister Edith Millen at Claxfield House. Gwendoline was a Sittingbourne girl but by the time of this photograph she was living in London.

This collection gives us an insight into family life in and around Lynsted Parish together with images of places - some places continue today (Claxfield House, Sharsted Court and Aymers) but others (Wanstalls) have long since been removed from our street scenes.

The gallery (below) weaves family relationships, events and a sense of time and place principally through the Henneker family.

Aymers (Lynsted Village) Barbara Burns worked at Aymers (below left) as a Nanny for a year. She recalls her parents stayed over Christmas 1962 in her flat at the top of the house and were trapped by the terrible snowfall that hit the South East on Boxing Day.
