Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend!
While this is not a Society 'happening', a gang of hard-working people have organised several events in picturesque Lynsted to celebrate the Jubilee.
The timetable has been shared with Members, but here is a link to the full programme for your convenience.

Commemorative oak for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The Society is in discussion with the Parish Council, Swale Borough Council, Kent County Council and the Borough Tree Warden to explore the possibility of planting an oak tree - more information on this as it progresses.

Sunday 12th June

10.30am to 2.30pm. Visit to the Lynsted Community Kitchen Garden. Meeting up at 10.30am, followed by an introduction and tour of the Garden. You will hear about Preparing and maintaining growing beds, successional seed sowing and planting out, making bean supports, making compost. Friends and family welcome. The event is free to members and non-members. If you wish, your free to bring a picnic.

Tuesday 21st June

Vintage Bus trip includedLullingstone Castle World Gardens (Eynsford): We are privileged to include transport on a vintage bus. Tour of the gardens led by Tom Hart Dyke.
Cost: £22 per head, to include the bus and entry to the World Garden. Please bring your own picnic.

1 till 5pm - Cherry Day at the Lynsted Traditional Cherry Orchard - Park Farm.

September

Wednesday 5th October

7.30 & 8.00pm: AGM & "Seals, Seascape and Coastal Widlife. Illustrated talk by Russell Miles, local naturalist and wildlife photographer.

Admission Free. Join us for wine and nibbles to celebrate another year of the Society

Saturday 29 October

4.30pm till 6.30pm - Halloween party. Traditional Cherry Orchard Group. Park Farm.

Wednesday 16th November
TBC - Diary Date

t.b.c.: "Dressing a medieval woman" (so what did they wear underneath?). A practical talk by Sue Lamberton about the clothes worn.
Admission: Members free; non-members £3. Light refreshments included.
